The following protocol shall be followed by an official who decides that he/she will not stand during the playing of the national anthem before any contest.
The South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) office in Columbia must be notified at least two days in advance of the contest. The SCHSL will contact the host school and advise them of the official’s intentions. If the host school decides that they do not want that official to officiate their game, the official will be replaced by the SCHSL office. In this situation there will be no payment to the official for this game.
Any official failing to follow this protocol is subject to discipline by the Commissioner.
