Some of us need to improve our site-of-the-foul procedure. Some of us could be characterized as drive-by shooters who merely engage in the absolute basic processes when we are reporting a foul at the site where it occurred.
There is an approved process for making the initial foul report.
Please tell a story at the spot of the foul. The story is as follows:
Stop the clock! A foul has occurred! Make eye contact with your partner!
If appropriate,
Or, if appropriate,
Please note: DO NOT POINT AT THE FLOOR to cancel a score.
Verbalize the color and number of the fouler and signal and state the nature of the foul.
Tell everyone how the game will resume.
If without free throws,
If with free throws,
After one has done all this, then proceed to the table and repeat the reporting process from the Reporting Area.
Let’s see that all of us are following the same process when handling foul situations.
