Team Control – Remember that team control can only end in one of three ways.  A try is attempted, the other team gains player control of the ball or the ball becomes dead.  The fact that the ball is knocked loose from a dribbler does not end team control.  In this situation a common foul committed by the former dribbler is a team control foul.

Tip of the Week

Taunting – After a successful goal, watch the players as they transition to their new roles on offense and defense.  Be alert for potential problems, particularly taunting after a dunk, blocked shot, etc. Taunting must be penalized. Taunting has no place in the game and will quickly lead to problems if it is not handled.  Remember, a successful goal doesn’t create a break from officiating responsibilities.
